Job Description
The EMS Billing Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing all billing-related activities for our emergency medical services. This role requires a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, insurance verification, and compliance with regulations. Key Responsibilities
Process and submit claims for emergency medical services to insurance companies and government payers.
Review and verify patient information, insurance coverage, and billing accuracy.
Follow up on outstanding claims and resolve any billing discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records of billing transactions and patient accounts.
Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment plans.
Stay updated on changes in billing regulations and insurance policies.
Collaborate with the EMS team to ensure compliance with all billing-related protocols.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in medical billing or related field preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in EMS or healthcare.
Knowledge of medical terminology, coding (CPT, ICD-10), and billing software.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
